Stat points on the socerer
I was wondering about where to put my sat points on my sorcerer? I am using a staff build atm and have mainly been concentrating mana which is a given I guess. However I have also been putting the odd point into health and stamina. One person said to put them all into mana but when I did that after a while I began to suffer from lack of stamina and my survivability began to suffer so I started to spread them out every few levels. Is this right? Or does it not matter to much as long as I put most of them into mana? When I hit max level I will start looking for specific gear to boost me as well.
Also to mitigate my low health issues I use food and heavy armour and favour health and stamina boosting effects on loot.

Re: Stat points on the socerer
what is your race? and what is it you want to do with your sorc? dps or tank or what ?¨^^ its all about how you are playing your char and what you want to do with it
i did that with my sorc that i am in light armour 1 heavy and 1 medium and then i sat 14 atribute points in health and the rest in mana but i use alot of mana and i have that idea about with a sorc its not importen with 23k health becurse a sorc can have so many shields to keep your health up ^^ but if you a stamina sorc then you will need abit more health then all the shields is using mana so you cant use them... and then else focus on stamina i think the best you can do with a sorc is choosing are you mana or stamina becurse you cant be both

I am going DPS with heavy armour, I am using staff and plan to do some healing as well. I guess it is a heavy mana build really.

Re: Stat points on the socerer
Well.. there kind of is a difference between leveling and end game.
Last I head the advice was to aim for around 20 k health once you reach v14 and have eaten. This would allow you to survive in most dungeons etc. For me that means I have put 45 points in to health, 17 in magicka and all my glyphs are + magicka. I then mostly eat purple food which gives me a nice boost to all stats, including stamina, allowing me to block and dodge a bit.
This might be a less viable set up during leveling though. I agree that blocking and dodging helps to keep you alive while you are questing around without that lovely tank to suck up the damage. I'd say just mess around with it and see what works for you and then once you reach max level and get the gear you want you can work on a more permanent set up.
As I understand it you use a staff as your main weapon (probably mixed in with some sorcerer skills) and this means you are magicka based.
Therefore you should not use full heavy armor.
This has to do with the passives you see under Skills -> Armor -> Light Armor - all passives that gives you great benefit with magicka. If you want you can mix in a few heavy or medium armor items like Michelle (to add a bit of protection and get extra health/magicka/stamina) but I suggest you wear at least 5 light armor items as a magicka based dps sorc.
Hum... if I meant to say more I forgot it now :p
But yeah keep up the good work, sorcerers are awesome!

Re: Stat points on the socerer
Acutally yeah.. for leveling purposes I would definitely wear one piece of heavy and one piece of medium armor to level those armor types up as well.
This is useful if you end up wanting to wear these armors later but also the active armor abilities (that you see under the armor skill lines) are quite handy.

Yeah never give advice more than half an ear Unless you want to be super elite the important thing is that it works for you and you like it.
